Book Club: Yoga and Eating, an Exploration of your Relationship to Food and Eating

An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Friday, repeating until December 6, 2019
“The benefits of the Yoga and eating comes not from self-denial, but from uninhibited enjoyment of and delight in food.” Charles Eisenstein, The Yoga of Eating Join Sheila and your fellow yogis for a yoga — book group style workshop to explore your relationship with food and eating in a safe, supported space. We will explore the physical need, willpower, habits, trends, diets, and conflicting messages associated with food and eating through reading, journaling, and discussion of The Yoga of Eating: Transcending Diets and Dogma to Nourish the Natural Self*. Each session will include pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures), journaling, and compassionate discussion to share, learn, and ultimately transform our understanding and negative concepts associated with eating to arrive at a place of self trust of our own relationship with food. Participants will be required to purchase The Yoga of Eating: Transcending Diets and Dogma to Nourish the Natural Self, by Charles Eisenstein and read assigned pages in preparation for each session. First session (We will read in session): Read Introduction and Chapter 1 & 2 (ends page 11) Students Read in Preparation for Upcoming Session: Due First Session: Introduction, Chapter 1 & 2 (ends page 10) -We will read together as well Due Second Session: Chapter 3 thru Chapter 6 (pages 11-40) Due Third Session: Chapter 7 thru Chapter 9 (pages 41-62) Due Fourth Session: Chapter 10 thru Chapter 13 (pages 63-88) Due Fifth Session: Chapter 14 thru Chapter 17 (pages 89-116) Due Sixth Session: Chapter 18 thru Chapter 23 (pages 117-145) Optional Additional Reading: Appendix I and II) $120 for 6 week workshop $105 Early bird special Preregister by October 15th, 2019
